Seen here are two new versions of Chopard L.U.C Quattro replica. The watches — in either 43mm platinum or rose gold case — are a real delight on the eyes. These are worthy and impressive looking additions to the Quattro family, with these new references receiving a nice dose of color which is further enhanced with the sunburst finish. In other words, these models bring some much welcome zest as compared to prior iterations of the Quattro. They carry on the Manufacture’s superlative the L.U.C 98.01-L movement which first launched in 2005; it four-barrels which provide 9-days of power reserve (see Did You Know below for more on the 98.01-L). Bonus points to anyone who can explain how to read the combined date + small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock (I’ll explain below). Look even more closely and you can see that the longer of the two hands points aligned with a “middle” ring with only hash marks — this is the small seconds. Unnecessarily complicated or does it enhance legibility? You decide.
The first version marries the platinum case with a blue-grey sunburst satin-brushed dial
the second version marries rose gold case with brown sunburst satin-finished dial.
Both models have the Replica Chopard L.U.C. style Roman numerals and dauphine style hands which display hours and minutes. On the small subdial at 6 o’clock you have concentrically set small seconds and date; the arc at 12 o’clock is the 9-day power reserve indicator.
Have you figured out how to read the subdial at 6 o’clock which shows both seconds and date? In fact it is a bit quirky — though there are an inner and outer ring of numerals, they both represent the date. Notice that the inner ring is odd numbered days, the outer is even numbered days.
