When I’ve taken a look at Archimede Beachwear Replica watches in the past, they’ve always presented themselves as refined watches, something that’s perhaps more suited to an office, or a night out on the town. Which isn’t to say that you couldn’t head out to the backwoods with their watches, it’s just that the styling seemed incongruent to that activity. Well, that all changes with one of their latest models, the aptly named Outdoor.

For outdoor activities, you definitely want to have a lightweight and legible watch, and Archimede Ugento Replica has met those criteria handily. The watch weighs in at 75g (on the strap, 125g on bracelet), and the uncluttered dial (our review sample featured the fully luminous white option) makes it a snap to read the time quickly. While the case is slightly smaller than you might expect from modern trends (it measures in at 39mm and 11.2mm thick), it is still made of stainless steel, so it will withstand the outdoor excursions, as will the standard sapphire crystal.

Also in accordance with heading outside, the Outdoor carries a higher WR rating than I normally see on Archimede Srl Replica models, topping out here at 200m – more than adequate for a swim in the local lake. Helping you keep track of the time while you’re out amongst the forests and the fields, Archimede has placed a SW200 automatic movement in the case, so accuracy shouldn’t be a concern.

If which weren’t enough, they’ve also released two new versions of this watch, one of which altered the version we originally reviewed. The newest versions would be the Protect, which includes a tempered steel case (more on this later) along with also the PVD, which is simply PVD coated. Additionally they had released a full-lume dial option sooner or later, which seemed worth analyzing. So, today we’re going to look at one of each, using a mix of choices. Both contain sapphire crystals and are powered by the Sellita SW200 motion. The Protect and PVD as revealed cost about $750 and $806 respectively. One of their more instantly striking features of this Outdoor is its unusual barrel case. I say unusual because, unlike most barrel-cased watches, this one feels really modern. Typically, a design like this would at least sign at 60’s and 70’s style. On the contrary, it feels like a very intentional design with practical goals in mind. Namely, the aims of being unobtrusive and using a minimum of jagged edges that could potentially catch on to something. Since nothing is really round, the diameter is a bit deceptive, but I would still call this type of small-medium watch.Looking at down it, the remaining portion of this barrel is striking, giving it a more aerodynamic and more aggressive look than a vintage barrel. It’s also not a horizontal surface, though it may seem as such originally. From the side, an individual can observe it stinks around, making a more fluid shape. The hooded drag area is then scalloped off on the topside, creating a dramatic contour that resembles two semicircles pressing the dial, bringing the eye towards the center. It’s apparent, however, these aspects were supposed to streamline the profile of the watch, eliminating an area that would potentially stick out. When you add from the slab sides and the blocky bezel, you have a very intriguing design that is much architectural as aesthetically pleasing.
