Reviewing The 2010 Breitling for Bentley GMT Chronograph Watch Replica

Although the Breitling for Bentley 24-hour GMT chronograph watch replica was first revealed almost two years ago, the Swiss watch making brand keeps introducing different kinds of limited editions of the chronometer.

Both Breitling and Bentley successfully monetize people’s lust for the goods branded with the name that, together with its archrival Rolls Royce, has become the legend of the British automotive industry. This new limited edition 2010 Breitling for Bentley Paris Motor Show GMT Chronograph features a top-notch chronometer-grade automatic caliber hidden inside a huge stainless steel body, which is decorated with the legendary British Racing Green color scheme.

As time has shown, the infusion of German blood was good both for Rolls Royce and Bentley Motors. Their financial problems are over and both brands still enjoy their life right at the top of the food chain pyramid.

Founded on 18 January 1919 by a certain Walter Owen Bentley, the company enjoyed tremendous financial success with its huge luxury cars selling like hot pancakes both on the European and North American markets. The decade of growth ended when the Great Depression struck. The company went bankrupt and was sold to Rolls Royce, the great and terrible. Both marques were living under the same roof till 1998, when they were separated and sold to BMW and Volkswagen.

The new edition of the good quality replica Breitling for Bentley 24-hour GMT chronograph watch was officially presented a couple of weeks ago at the last Mondial de l’Automobile international motor show in Paris.

Technically, this is the same GMT model, which is powered by the same Breitling Caliber 47B COSC-certified automatic chronograph movement. It is still delivered in a larger than life 49 mm stainless steel case. Its bidirectional rotating bezel allows you to better adjust the multiple time zone display system, which is placed right atop the second 24-hour chapter ring and features 24 major cities of the world.

The only difference from the original watch is the new color scheme: the watch’s flange and rubber strap are clad in the world-famous British Racing Green color.

Current time in the specified city is displayed with the easily recognizable second hour hand, which is operated with its own push-button located at 10 o’clock

Somewhat ironically, for the new Bentley Continental GT model range the color scheme is renamed to “Barnato” (to honor Woolf Barnato, the British millionaire who invested a huge load of money into the company and in 1925 became its chairman.)

The company says nothing about the Breitling replica watch’s price, but expect it to be around €7500-€8000: that’s what they usually charge for this type of timekeepers when they are co-branded with Bentley.
