IWC takes up the tradition of elaborately decorated jewellery watches. This was a style the company cultivated towards the end of the 1980s and during the 1990s with models. Both timepieces have a moon phase display at “12 o’clock”. The watches’ case and moving lugs are paved with 206 pure white diamonds amounting to 2.26 carats.
Two limited-edition models are available, each restricted to 50 watches:
– 18-carat red gold, white dial with lacquered finish, blued hands
Otherwise, the design and configuration haven’t changed. 3777. It’s a robust, dependable self-winding chronograph movement that is based on the common Valjoux 7750. It defeats at 4Hz and provides around 44 hours of power reserve.To commemorate this exceptional watch, the Watches of Switzerland 20th Anniversary IWC Pilots Chronograph includes a commemorative case back which shows the watch’s amount in the limited edition series. The situation back also gets the Watches of Switzerland logo and a distinctive design that celebrates its 20th anniversary.This is a view I think a lot of IWC fans, particularly those who are also fans of the present vintage-inspired watch trend, will enjoy. They have not messed about with all the classic good looks of the ref. 3777 and whatever small changes there are have been implemented. The only problem, however, is that there are only going to be 50 of them.
